Choosing Montessori and Bath Toys
Montessori-style toys share a few traits: natural materials where possible, one clear skill per toy, and room for the child to figure things out at their own pace. Bath toys are simpler, but there are still a few things worth checking.
What to look for in a Montessori toy
- A single focus: pounding, counting, buttoning or fishing for numbers.
- Clear feedback: the child can see when they got it right, like a number matched or a button closed.
- Durable materials: wood and felt hold up to daily use and look nice on an open shelf.
Rotate instead of buying more
Many parents keep three or four toys out and store the rest, then swap every week or two. A smaller shelf helps kids focus, and old toys feel new again when they come back.
Bath toy care
Water toys need to dry out between uses. After bath time, empty any water inside, shake the toy well and let it dry somewhere with good air flow. Wipe battery-powered toys like our whale dry before putting them away.
Safety basics
Never leave a child alone in the bath, even for a moment. Every toy in this collection is recommended for ages 3 and up.

Montessori and Bath Toy FAQ
What makes a toy Montessori?
There is no single rule. The term usually means a simple, hands-on toy, often made of natural materials, that teaches one skill like counting or fine motor control and lets the child lead.
How does the octopus bath toy work?
Soak it in water to fill it, then lift it out. It spins and sprays as the water drains.
Are these toys good for 2 year olds?
All toys in this collection are recommended for ages 3 and up. For younger toddlers, follow the age guidance on each product page.
